I have a little confession. . .I kind of cheated this week. Last week when I went on the hunt for white wines to try on my quest to become a white wine drinker again. . .
Prior to my trip to Goody Goody, my friend Matt’s favorite place to look for wines, I had decide that I was going to focus on Sauvignon Blancs. . .since I was lollygagging in the white wine section one of the wine guys came up to me and asked me what I was looking for.
I told him I was trying to rekindle a liking of white wines and he agreed with me that he was more of a red person as well, but. . .if I wanted to try a Chardonnay, he had a suggestion.
I must say. . .at first I was expecting it to be a fancy or expensive suggestion but instead it was the Kali Hart 2007 Chardonnay, Monterrey County. This bottle was about $14, which impressed me because he wasn’t just trying to talk me into an expensive wine. . .
So, back to why I’m a cheater, I was so excited to try this wine, I just couldn’t wait until tonight. I actually opened it on Monday night and have had a rather large glass each night. . .
I am definitely thinking that in this Texas summer heat, this could be my new favorite wine. . .it has a fruity aspect to it but it is also more dry like a red wine. . .each night it did get a little sweeter unlike read where I think the flavor becomes a little more blended. Since I haven’t been drinking whites for several years I am not up to speed on their tendencies but I am definitely think that this trend might be the way they go. . .they sweeten until they get sour. . .
Whatever the case, give this Kali Hart Chardonnay a try, I really think you’ll like it. . .I know I do!

I know what you’re all thinking. . .big freakin’ deal! It’s just that I don’t like that my baby is getting old!
This is the first car I bought and paid off ALL by myself. . .which means I love it even more because I don’t have a car payment and am really not looking forward to that again one day.
In all reality, I hit the milestone mark of 100,000 miles last week on Wednesday but. . .I guess I’m still in shock seeing all those zeros on the odometer.

The last two weekends I have been on a mission to get rid of some of the “junk” in my bedroom. Sadly, I bought my house almost 3 years ago and ever since I moved in I have had this row of boxes full of junk under the window in my room and I decided I was tired of it!
While watching Taken on Friday night I finally finished getting rid of the clutter. But then of course I wanted something to fill the empty space and started thinking I needed a chair or chaise or something. Saturday, I called my mom just to ask where I should go look and she said, “You can have the chair in the loft.”

Not really what I was expecting, but I wasn’t going to say no to a free chair, especially when it was already the right color. I am totally digging having somewhere to sit in my room other than the bed.
My hydrangeas are really blooming and looking amazing, which makes me really happy!

Meredith and I finally finished this last season of 24, and I still am impressed that they are able to do everything in real time and fit into just 24 hours. . .although, I’m not going to lie, I would not ever want to spend 24 hours the way Jack Bauer does. But I can’t wait to see what happens next season.
Finally the FedEx man arrived today, they totally psyched me out and said my wine club shipment would be arriving on Friday and it never came. So I was very excited when he pushed the buzzer this morning and gave me wine. I was especially excited because B. R. Cohn finally had the Woody White back in stock, just in time for the summer.

On a different note; anyone else totally creeped out by Tanner P.’s foot fetish? I know that they are constantly looking for things to focus on with the Bachelors to fill time but, seriously I don’t want to hear about all the creepy things Tanner P. wants to do to someone’s feet. That’s just wrong! But I can’t wait to see what Lincee has to say tomorrow on her blog.
