2013 Reading Report Card

With the first quarter of 2013 in the bags I thought this would be a good time to check out how I’m doing with the books I wanted to read this year.  So this is my first quarter 2013 reading report card.

Originally I made a list of books I wanted to read in 2013 (you can find it here).  This was a short list of 7 books, but I’ve only read 3.  The 4 books remaining are:

1. A Casual Vacancy by J.K. Rowling

2. The Paris Wife by Paula McLain

3. Garden Spells by Sarah Addison Allen

4. The Impact Equation by Chris Brogan and Julien Smith

Of these 4 books, I own 2 and my sister owns the other 2, so I really have no excuse to not read all 4 of these books this year!

Next I made a list of Books to Movies in 2013 (you can find it here).  I’ve read 4 books on this list, well technically 5 but I want to reread the Great Gatsby before seeing the movie.  The books I have left to read are:

1. The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald

2. The Hunter by Richard Stark

3. Devil’s Knot by Mara Levitt

4. Serena by Ron Rash

5. Your Voice in My Head by Emma Forrest

6. City of Bones by Cassandra Clare

I now own half of these books and can easily obtain the other three; hopefully I won’t have a problem getting all of these read.

In the mean time I am currently reading:

The 500 by Matthew Quirk
This book is great and I’m really enjoying it.  It is a debut novel that quickly made its way up the New York Time’s Best Seller List and reminds me of the Firm by John Grisham.

But more importantly, I’ve recently learned that two of my favorite authors have books coming out in the very near future that makes me extremely happy!  Obviously these two books are now on my 2013 reading list:

Table for Seven by Whitney GaskellWhitney Gaskell is one of my favorite authors and I can’t wait to read Table for Seven.  Table for Seven will be released April 23rd and can be pre-ordered now on Amazon.  In the mean time if you’re looking for a book to read pick up any of Whitney Gaskell’s books, I just know you’ll love them!

Wedding Night by Sophie KinsellaSohpie Kinsella, the author of the Shopaholic series is releasing a new stand alone novel, Wedding Night.  Sophie Kinsella’s stand alone novels have all been fun and enjoyable reads so I can’t wait to get my hands on this book!  Wedding Night is also being released on April 23rd and is available for pre-order on Amazon.

How am I going to decide which to read first??

AND…if you are looking for a book to read, don’t forget about my debut novel:

Creative-Chaos-Book-Cover-Copyright-231x300

Available for the Kindle through Amazon.

How are you doing with your reading list and how does your 2013 Reading Report Card look?
