The Girl Who Chased the Moon | Sarah Addison AllenPosted by Kate O. on Sep 3, 2012 in books, fiction | 0 comments
My friend Tiffany turned me onto Sarah Addison Allen. I had her book The Peach Keeper on my “to read” list on Goodreads but hadn’t gotten to it just yet. Tiffany hooked me up with a gift certificate to Amazon so I could get any book I wanted, (thank you SO much Tiffany, it was the perfect gift and I LOVED it!) but there was no way I wasn’t going to use it on a book from Sarah Addison Allen. First I decided to check the library and see which of Allen’s books were available for loan on my Kindle. I actually ended up buying Garden Spells because it looked like it was Allen’s first novel and because the two books the library had available I had to wait on. Just before I finished Baby Proof I was notified that The Girl Who Chased the Moon was available to me.
Naturally, that determined the next book I would be reading because you can only borrow digital books from the library for two weeks. It took no more than about 20 pages for me to be hooked. This book is both magical and enchanting. You can’t help but what to find out what is going to be revealed as Allen tells her tale.
The Girl Who Chased the Moon is the story of teenager Emily Benedict who has recently lost her mother and has no where to go but to a small town in North Carolina she knows nothing about to live with a grandfather she never knew she had.
In just a few months of living in this town Emily learns more then just about her mother’s past; she learns of the magic this enchanting town holds and all that her mother left behind.
After reading The Girl Who Chased the Moon by Sarah Addison Allen, I can’t wait to dive into her other novels! The next will be The Peach Keeper because it just became available from the library then Garden Spells. If you haven’t read any of Allen’s novels yet follow Tiffany’s suggestion and do so ASAP!
