wine o. wednesday #87

When I hear the name Dave Matthews I most certainly do not think of wine.  In fact that name takes me back to high school and more specifically, the summer I turned 16.  After getting my license, the first time I got to go out and just “cruise” around by myself, I listened to Dave Matthews Band’s Under the Table and Dreaming CD.  Yup I said CD, back then iPods did not exist!

Dreaming-Tree-Wine-Dave-MatthewsA friend of mine said she tried the Dreaming Tree Red Blend called Crush, though personally I think they should have named it Crash.  I loved that song, Crash into Me!  She said the blend was really good, so I decided to give it a try.  The only problem was I could only find the Dreaming Tree Cabernet Sauvignon.  I decided to give it a try anyway, and I was really impressed.  I’m glad to see that Dave Matthews didn’t get into the wine business to just make money, he actually makes good wine!

According to the Dreaming Tree Wines website they currently offer three varietals: Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and the red blend Crush.  However it looks like they are either about to release or are working on creating a white blend as well.

I found the Dreaming Tree cab at my local grocery store, now I’ll have to venture else where to try one of the other varietals.

Have you tried Dave Matthews’ wine yet?  This makes me want to be famous just so I can make wine too!

  1. My brother got me the Crush & I’ve had the Chardonnay as well. Both yummy. I was surprised at how much I liked them. Crush is a song of his too 😉
