wine o. wednesday #95

I have been hearing about this place called “Total Wine” here in Dallas for a while now but have never ventured there.  For a long time the only one in town was on the other side of the city from me and  I figured it wasn’t worth the trek.  But then they opened a location in Frisco and I finally ventured up to Total Wine with my Uncle to check it out.

Total Wine is huge!  I have to admit I was a bit overwhelmed there were so many choices.  It took us a good hour to roam through the store.  I decided to give their version of the Two Buck Chuck a try and it was pretty bad.  It really tasted like chemically grape juice.  So, I don’t recommend that.

I also picked up another Cabernet to give it a try.  Without realizing it, I chose a Washington State Cabernet Sauvignon.  I don’t normally think of Washington State when I think of Cabernet; if it were a Pinot Noir then sure.

Radius Wine Cabernet Sauvignon

This Radius 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon was a great wine to pair with the spicy roast I had in the crockpot all day. It was a light wine that was very easy to drink.  I don’t remember the exact price but I know it was under $15 for the bottle.  I would definitely recommend this wine to others and will be buying another bottle on my next trip to Total Wine.  The price point is great for the holidays if you’re having a party or need a hostess gift.

Radius Winery doesn’t seem to have a website, but check them out on the Radius Winery Facebook Page.

Cheers!  What’s in your glass this Wine Wednesday?
