Thanks to Twitter I learned about the Kramer Vineyards. Kramer Vineyards is located in Gaston, OR. I’ve been meaning to post this blog for months and sadly am just now getting around to it. That doesn’t mean I haven’t been drinking wine though, so never you mind about that! I just haven’t had time to talk about wine.
Back to my Kramer wines. I ordered them through Becky Kramer who owns Urban Decanter in Forest Grove, OR back in October and was so excited to try them all! I narrowed down my select to 2 Pinot Noirs, the Estate Pinot Noir and a Rebecca Reserve; then Becky threw in a bottle of the Brut since my sister was about to get married. Since it was coming in a 4 pack shipper I decided to also try the Pinot Blanc because I’d never heard of that varietal before and wanted to give it a try. Unfortunately I did not get a picture of the Brut to include, but that is only because it was so yummy it did not last long at all!
Of the two Pinots my favorite was the 2009 Rebecca’s Reserve. Though the were both good. I am a big fan of Pinot Noirs and I think Oregon often produces some delicious ones. Since I drank these a few months back, I’m sorry I don’t have good tasting notes on them.
The wine I was most in love with from this shipment was the Pinot Blanc. It was amazing! I’m not even sure what to compare it to. It was sweeter then a Pinot Grigio but not as sweet as say a Muscato. I actually drank this with my tequila lime chicken that I made on election night for dinner. I’m not going to lie, this bottle did not live to see another day once it was opened.
Pinot Blanc just might be my wine of choice this summer when it really gets hot. That is, if I can find any aronud me. Unfortunately Kramer Vineyard wines aren’t available around me and I think someone needs to fix that! This was such a great discovery, I love learning about new wines. And Kramer Vineyards don’t be surprised if you get an order from me this spring! Cheers!
