I just couldn’t pull myself away from the chilled white wine because as I drove home I saw a bank sign flashing 112 degrees. Yikes! I’m not sure it really got that hot today, but maybe. . .
Tonight’s wine, I have been holding off opening because I want to savor every drop of it. Last summer when I was in Napa, I tried the Woody White at B. R. Cohn. I know I have talked about the fact that I am in their wine club before, but I’m not sure if I have mentioned how gracious and friendly they were. I think we tried every single one of their wines at least once and in some cases twice.
And since I have only recently really given white wines another shot, I didn’t really have any expectation of liking any of the white wines I tried. But. . .we were all surprised at how good the Woody White was and I think each one of us bought a bottle to take home.
I was sad last fall when I went to place my wine club order and found out they had sold out and I wouldn’t be able to get any more. Luckily by the time it was April, and time for the next order they were kind enough to wait and ship my order until the Woody White was bottled and ready to ship.
Since it has been almost a year, I didn’t exactly remember what this wine tasted like. It is a little more peachy then I remembered but not the bitterness of the peach, just the sweetness. It is very light and refreshing and still remains, in my mind, a perfect choice for a hot summer day, or night.
