I finally had the chance to make it to Bread Zepplin for lunch. I had seen mentions of this place all over social media but had yet to venture over to Irving to give it a try. Now that I’ve been to Bread Zepplin I kind of want to just make up excuses to be in the area…
You’re probably thinking, “what the..?” You’ve heard of soup in a bread bowl right? Well this is salad in a bread…zepplin. You can get your salad the plain way in a bowl. A 48 ounce bowl, which incase you were wondering, is freakin’ huge. Or you can eat your salad the “Zepplin” way! (I’m not really sure if that’s a thing, but it is now!)
I went with the Texas Ceasar because I’m a sucker for any dish that includes jalapenos. Though I did add black beans because, why not? And I added grilled chicken. Once all of the ingredients were gathered in a bowl I was passed down to the salad chopping station. The salad dressing was added and then the chopping began.
I really wanted to take a video of this process but was afraid I’d either look like either a total creeper or just a plain old weirdo. Maybe next time? Or you could just go experience it for yourself.
If you head out to Bread Zepplin around lunch time know there will be a line and a seat will be hard to find, but don’t let that keep you from giving it a try!
Just writing this post makes me wish I was in possession of a tasty salad from Bread Zepplin….can somebody fix that please?
