I went to Sushi Zushi a few weeks ago with a friend of mine and I have to say, Sushi Zuzhi just might be the most impressive sushi restaurant I’ve been to because of the variety on the menu. There was page upon page of options to choose from and believe me, even for this picky sushi eater, it was hard to decide what to order.
I probably should mention, if you haven’t been to Sushi Zushi in a while, they have moved. They are now just north of Lemmon Ave on McKinney behind Max’s Wine Dive.
We started out with the Vegetable Gyoza.
These are japanese style dumplings that were delicious! They are spinach wontons filled with 9 vegetables and pan seared to perfection.
After choosing about 6 different rolls I wanted to try, I settled on these two:
I’m pretty sure I went with the Monterrey Roll (the one on top) and the Boston Roll. That top roll has cheese on top. I don’t know about you but I’ve never had a sushi roll with cheese on top and it was interesting. Not exactly the texture I was expecting but it was good. I loved both my rolls and didn’t leave anything on my plate. Now I just need to go back so I can try more.
Here is my view of the rolls across the table.
Obviously I’m the one into rolls covered in sauce but I didn’t hear any complaints from my friend with her rolls either. I was so stuffed from mine that I didn’t try her rolls but if there were any leftovers believe me it wasn’t more than one or two pieces.
What’s your favorite roll at Sushi Zushi? What should I try next time?
