Is there a better way to spend a lazy, chilly Saturday afternoon than watching a movie and letting some soup simmer on the stove?
In case you didn’t guess it, I watched the Big Lebowski. For years, my brother has been talking about and quoting this movie. I am not quite sure what to make of it. I’m afraid that there has been entirely too much hype about it for me and I really had no choice but to be let down by this movie. It had its funny parts, but as a whole I felt it was lacking a plot. I did enjoy the music though. Hopefully my brother is not too disappointed that I do not share his love for this movie.
I got a taco soup recipe from my aunt that I wanted to try out. I decided to be a bit experimental and make a few alterations, and it would appear that my choices were good. The Chicken Taco Soup Kate style was a success.
I realize this picture may not look super appetizing. . .but trust me, it was good. I was kind of sad I shared it with other people.
My evening with friends was very enjoyable of course. We made some “Pepe” margaritas (I call them that because my friend Pepe gave me the recipe) and just chilled. Oh, but we also tried added sangria. . .yummy!
Who could ask for more?

soup sounds good. share the recipe! and i’m very jealous of the pepe ritas… since you like to freeze things so much, why don’t you freeze a batch for me and ship it to lubbock? 🙂
