(I know it’s a day early. . .but tomorrow is Christmas Eve!)
My friend Emily recommended the Wild Horse Pinot Noir to me and I thought, since she is a new convert to red wines I would indulge in her choice. When she suggested it I had thought she said it was a $10 – $15 bottle of wine so I had to call her when I stood in front of it at the grocery store with a $27 price tag to make sure I was looking at the right bottle. She assured me that I wouldn’t be disappointed, and as I am enjoying my third glass I must agree.
The back of the label describes this wine as having, aromas of black cherry, rosewater and cinnamon, followed by a silky, smooth mouthfeel. While I am not 100% sure what a silky, smooth mouthfeel is, I can taste the black cherry and the rose in the wine although I do not taste the cinnamon. I was a little surprised when I read that there was a hint of cinnamon because I didn’t detective even the slightest occurrence of cinnamon in this bottle. Despite the recommendation that this wine should be accompanied by salmon, duck or mushroom risotto, none of which I like, I really am enjoying each sip.
This Pinot does have a smooth taste to it make it very easy to drink. So no matter what your price range for a bottle of wine of maybe, I recommend giving this one a try.
Thanks for the recommendation Emily, now, everyone else send me your suggestions. . .Happy Christmas Eve Eve. . .

Personally, I like it with hot chocolate chip cookies…
but you’re not going to find THAT on the label.
So glad you liked my recommendation 🙂
Merry Christmas!
