On Friday we decided to have cousin Happy Hour at our house and we all brought a bottle of wine. I’d been looking for an excuse to stop in the brand new Spec’s that opened right outside my neighborhood. I know some people think Spec’sis overrated but personally I think they have great prices and typically a great wine selection. They weren’t particularly busy when I stopped in so I had the full attention of one of the guys working the wine department and he was kind enough to make a few suggestions. He is the one who pointed out this bottle of Honig.

Apparently the wine maker is really well known for his Sauvignon Blancs followed closely by his Cabernet Sauvignons.
Because I had bought this bottle only about an hour before we drank it, it really wasn’t all that cold for our first glass. So I stuck it in the freezer hoping our second glass would be much more chilled; and it worked!
I thought the Honig Sauvignon Blanc was pretty good and then I had the second, much cooler, glass and I loved it. It had a great crisp taste and I will most definitely be buying another bottle of this wine and may even have to give the Cabernet Sauvignon a try as well when the color temperatures finally arrive and stay here in Dallas!
I think everyone else enjoyed this bottle of wine as well because it didn’t last too long!
