This was the first Hahn Wine I ever tried. Like I mentioned a few Wine Wednesdays back (see post) I was first introduced to Hahn Wines on one of my early trips to Dee Lincoln’s Restaurant in Uptwown Dallas, and now that I have a Spec’s right outside my neighborhood I can get Hahn whenever I want!
The GSM is a red blend that gets its name from the varietals that are blended together to make this delicious bottle of wine. It is 62% Grenache, 34% Syrah and 4% Mourvedre. If you are like me and had never heard of Mourvedre before, here is a little more information. Apparently the GSM blend is not a blend specific to Hahn Winery but is an often created red blend. According to Hahn’s website this is a Southern Rohne inspired blend that showcases the best of these varietals from California’s Central Coast.
I love how rich and full of flavor this blend is. It is a perfect winter red if you are looking for some new wines to have around the house this winter. We drank it chilled and it was just delicious but when I first had it it was not chilled and it was equally delicious.
This bottle is also at a great price point. I was able to find it for under $15.oo so if you find a bottle I definitely recommend picking up this great wine!
