20 Feet Seafood Joint

20 Feet Seafood Joint is a BYOB tucked away in East Dallas near White Rock Lake.  I grew up in this area so I absolutely love any excuse to head over there.  I’m a total seafood wuss but after my trip to North Carolina a few weeks ago I am trying to be more adventurous so I was really looking forward to trying out this new restaurant and I was not at all disappointed.

My sister is the one who discovered 20 Feet Seafood Joint and arranged our venture over there.  The restaurant is very casual and unexpected.  As I said it is BYOB sos you can bring whatever you want and boy did we come prepared.

I’m pretty sure quite a few tables were surprised at our preparedness.  I didn’t capture the flask of vodka that was also brought to dinner, but hey, it was brought out after I took the picture.

A few of the appetizers that were tried were the Shrimp Cocktail:

and the Mussels

I didn’t actually try either, but I was told it was delicious.  For dinner I decided to order the Lobster Roll.

Despite the $18 price tag, I decided to also order the french fries

Both were absolutely delicious!  The Lobster Roll was packed full with nothing but lobster which explains why it was $18.  The bread it was served on seemed to have a lemony flavor that helps accentuate the freshness of the lobster.  The french fries were seasoned with, salt, pepper and Thyme.  It was a great combination!

The other item I considered ordering was the Pork Belly Banh-Mi

One of the specials that night was the trout:

We managed to finish up our meal way before we finished  all of the beverages we brought with us, but fortunately they never got too busy so we were not asked to vacate our table (see # 5 below).

But on the off-chance there was a rush, we decided to order dessert.  We had 2 slices of key lime pie and a strawberry shortcake

and of course some oyster shooters

This little fish joint opened in early 2013 and boasts a chef who has previously worked at the Mansion and Dragonfly.  The rustic nautical decor that fills the dark restaurant is proof that food offerings is the focus of this new kid on the block.

If you’re on the hunt for a great BYOB and you’re a fan of seafood then you’ve got to head over to 20 Feet Seafood Joint.  It is great for families, groups or just a nice quiet dinner out.
