Bailey Turns 1!

It amazes me how fast the year has flown by!  It also amazes me that I am a dog mom who would dedicate a post in honor of my dog’s 1st birthday.  But little did I know how much this fur ball would mean to me when I decided almost a year ago that I was going to take her home!  A year ago today while we were working on preparations for Beth & Brent’s big day,

(Congrats on your one year anniversary by the way you two!)

that a dog named Lola went into labor and gave birth to 8 little boxer puppies:

To be honest, I’m not really sure which one is Bailey….but here she is a week later when I got to meet her:

I still can’t believe she was ever small enough to fit in my hand and weigh only one pound!  Luckily I know her parents’ owners and they let me come and hang out with her frequently before I got to bring her home.  When I did bring her home 7 weeks later she was up to 8 pounds.  She was the size of my mom’s min pin and met my youngest nephew that day.  This was before he was scared of her because she is so big:

It was a little over a week before Christmas when she came to live with me.  After about two nights she slept just fine in her crate and believe it or not she didn’t really have too many accidents in the house.  It wasn’t too long before she had her first boyfriend:

Bailey-and-Wilson

Wilson is such a trooper and puts up with Bailey chewing on him and just generally harassing him.  When out at the dog park or around other dogs Wilson always keeps an eye on her.

We’ve been on two road trips together:

She’s been my office mate since I work from home:

She got fixed…though I’m sure her puppies would have been adorable…I just am not so sure I’d be down for delivering puppies….

Bailey-Spayed

She is now a whopping 65 pounds, sleeping outside of her crate without any problems and follows me EVERYWHERE I go.  But I wouldn’t trade any single second, she’s been so much fun to have around.  Hopefully one day soon she won’t freak my nephews out because she really is a sweetheart.
