I am blown away by the wonderful people that I know and their amazing ideas. In my own little way I want to show the world what they have been bold enough to do, and the steps they have taken towards their own independence. Here is my shout out to those people and their businesses that inspire me. . .
Ashley Smith – Polka-dot-Potato
She is the owner and founder of Polka-dot-Potato, an online community for digital scrapbookers allowing them to connect through a message board and a layout gallery. However, a mention of Ashley’s accomplishments wouldn’t be complete without mentioning Ben, her husband of about 18 years and 24-7 tech support. Be sure to log onto the site and check out all of possibilities available in the world of digital scrapbooking.
Kandice Matsler – Calligraphy Etc.
Just a few months ago Kandice Matsler went from a fulltime employee at a Dallas based stationary company to purchasing an invitation, gift and stationary store in Lubbock, TX. While I miss her here in Dallas she is having a blast adjusting to being her own boss. I can’t wait to get out there and see the store, so whether you live in Lubbock or are just passing through stop by and tell Kandice hi.
Todd & Ryan Pietsch – Aria Sky & Terrace Lounge
Todd and Ryan are my cousins who started working on a bar down in Corpus Christi over a year ago. They found this empty warehouse space about three blocks from the water and completely transformed it into the most amazing bar I have ever seen. When you walk inside Aria you would think you had just walked into a bar in Vegas or Chicago, dare I say New York City? I am so proud of what they have accomplished and the look that Ryan created inside. If you are in Corpus and a little thirsty stop on by. . .
