Rise No 1 | Dallas

Apparently I am behind the times, because I didn’t realize Rise No 1 had been open for at least 6 years.  I thought it just opened in the last few years.  I also had no idea that a souffle could be anything other than dessert.  Rise No 1 offers 11 different savory souffles to choose from for dinner and has a variety of starters as well.

While we were deciding which souffles we wanted we ordered a French Chardonnay and were brought these adorable mini loaves of bread.

I loved all of the dishes, glasses and silverware they use at Rise No 1.  It is quite an eclectic assortment.  The wine glasses they used looked like the bottom of beer bottles, so fun.  The Chardonnay was nice and not too buttery.

It was hard to decide what to order.  So many of the souffles sounded really good.  In the end, I ordered the crab souffle that was a special that day and it was delicious!

Just look at all those giant clumps of crab meat.

My friend ordered the jambon and Gruyere souffle.  It was good but a lot more eggy than mine.  It almost tasted like a ham, egg and cheese sandwich.

Of course we had to order a souffle for dessert.  Again, this was a hard decision, so many of them sounded so good.  The special that night was key lime souffle but we decided to try the Grand Mariner souffle.

Apparently this souffle is one of the most popular dessert choices at Rise No 1, but it wasn’t my favorite.  It wasn’t sweet at all unless you smothered it the sweet cream.

They told us that it would take a while for the souffles to be ready so we should probably order our dessert selection when we ordered our entrees.  Which was nice because then you didn’t have a waiter stopping by your table constantly to check on you or the meal and we were able to have a nice meal and talk.  I can’t wait to go back and try out some of the other souffles.

Have you been to Rise No 1?  What did you think?
