Sugar and Spice | Lauren Conrad

Okay, I’m a little embarrassed to admit that I read Sugar and Spice | Lauren Conrad.  However, I did read the other two books in this series…it’s just been 4 years since I did.  I zoomed through this book in just a couple of nights.  It’s a very easy read which is understandable considering it is most likely intended for high schoolers.  But this book helped me reach the goal of being halfway through my 2013 Reading Challenge on Goodreads.  This was book #15 for the year so I am 8% ahead of my goal.  Yay me!

Sugar and Spice

Sugar and Spice picked up right where Sweet Little Lies left off, I only say that because that’s how it felt.  I don’t actually remember the first two books all that well because it has been several years since I last read one.  I found myself continually trying to remember who all the characters were on the Hills and which ones she was basing her characters in the L.A Candy series on.  This would definitely make a good beach read because it is quick and easy and doesn’t take a lot of attention to keep up with what is going on in the story.

I also couldn’t help but wonder was the Hills as fake as the fictional L.A. Candy?  I know reality TV isn’t really real but wow I was impressed at how creative the producer got with the characters and scenes.  I will probably read Lauren Conrad’s other series as well.  If it’s anything like this series it will also be an easy read, perfect for picking up when I need a book to just help me unwind from being so busy!

Have you ever read a book you were embarrassed to admit you read even though you enjoyed it?  What was it?  I want to know!
